Over 85 years of LUKAS-ERZETT: that means over eight decades of constant evolution. We constantly monitor the requirements of the various markets and develop exactly the tools that are needed. To this end, we utilise all technical possibilities in terms of abrasive grain, matrix, backing material and tool body. We transform new cutting materials, such as self-sharpening ceramic or improved carbide grades, into innovative tools for our customers.

The expertise of our development department is constantly creating new tools for exceptional performance. Our IQ series sanding discs are among the most abrasive tools on the market. These include sanding discs with a multi-layer structure that achieve a long service life even when used with great force. Other discs achieve even more extreme removal rates thanks to their patented, overlapping flap shape and arrangement. LUKAS has made a name for itself with such developments wherever tools with unusual capabilities are required.

LUKAS has also developed tools that are at the forefront of progress in their market segment. One example: For the production of wind turbine blades, the wind power industry needs grinding tools that can grind fibre-reinforced plastics with high productivity. We developed the semi-flexible SHF grinding disc with structured silicon carbide for this purpose. With its rapid removal of hard laminate structures, this grinding disc is now one of the standard tools used in the construction of wind turbines. We have also developed special tools for the aircraft industry, foundries and other industries.
