Realise your full potential
Sales via online platforms and shop systems have been on the rise in almost all sectors for years, meaning that purchasing professional tools via these modern channels is also very much in vogue. Tool professionals in the industry in particular are increasingly buying materials in online shops or on platforms. A trend that is set to continue in the future. It is therefore no wonder that specialist retailers are increasingly focussing on sales via their own online shops or marketplaces.
It is essential for good customer orientation and an improved purchasing and customer experience to provide every interested party and potential buyer with the right data on product details, services and application options. Unfortunately, this is usually not only time-consuming, but also requires a great deal of expertise both online and offline.

Shopware 6 - new shop system with many possibilities
Shopware 6, which was launched in May 2019, is a completely rewritten shop system with the slogan: "More flexibility. Less complexity. One technology." for the increasingly complex world of e-commerce.
In addition to distinctive shop functionalities, Shopware also offers many CMS elements to creatively design brand experiences and content pages. Even without additional plugins, products can be easily and quickly imported into your own shop, such as the product data from the LUKAS data package.
Shopware 5 - a proven shop system
Despite a new version, Shopware 5 will still be supported by the developers until 2024. The system, which now has more than 1 million downloads, offers a reliable e-commerce basis and is recognised as "Proven. Widespread. Sustainably successful.". With its shopping worlds, Shopware 5 set a milestone in the emotional online shopping experience and impresses with its community approach and strong customisability using plugins. Product imports can also be easily carried out via a CSV file.
WordPress incl. WooCommerce extension
WordPress is the world's most widespread and widely used CMS system (see illustration) and can also be used as a shop system using the WooCommerce plugin.
WordPress is open source and offers enormous customisation potential thanks to various plugins; it is also very intuitive to use and flexible. You can use the integrated WordPress/WooCommerce importer to import product data or you can use an importer plugin. We recommend the paid but very high-performance plugin WP-All-Importer for WooCommerce, which allows you to create your own import mapping and carry out numerous useful import modifications.
Magento 2
Magento 2 was launched on the market in 2015 and was characterised by a completely new software architecture. The focus of this solution is on enterprise and B2B e-commerce and is available as a free open source edition (called Community Edition in Magento 1) and as an enterprise version. In Germany, Magento has an estimated market share of 14%, putting it ahead of Shopware and other major B2B e-commerce solutions such as SAP Hybris.
Magento 1 - the all-rounder in e-commerce
Magento 1 became popular with small and medium-sized companies thanks to its development as an all-round e-commerce solution for both small and large projects. Support for Magento 1 ended in 2020, but many systems are still running on older versions than version 2, which has been in existence since 2015. If you use Magento 1, you can upload products using the import/export module.
Prestashop
PrestaShop is a European open source solution with currently over ########## installations. This shop solution was published in 2008 and is based on the PHP scripting language and uses the MySQL database system, as do numerous other shop systems from this list.
The system has a highly modular structure and can therefore be expanded as required and is designed to be resource-efficient depending on the desired use. Functions and extensions can be added or removed by installing or uninstalling modules. A chargeable module is therefore required to import product data from an XML, CSV or other file format.
Plentymarkets
Plentymarkets is more than just a shop, Plentymarkets offers its users an entire product family. In addition to the functionalities of an ERP system, Plentymarkets shines with its direct marketplace connection to 40 different marketplaces, an integrated PIM system (Product Information Management System), its own shop and numerous other functionalities. In a well-described article, Plentymarkets explains how to import products into its own system.
Shopify - user-friendly and high-performance at the same time
Shopify is a Canadian provider of online shop software with a German founder (Tobi Lütke), which is a particularly attractive solution for small and growing companies. The advantages of Shopify are a favourable entry price, easy to understand operation and a high degree of flexibility. Shopify itself states that there are already more than 1 million companies that rely on Shopify to sell their products online.
Many start-up companies, which also appear on the well-known TV series "Höhle der Löwen", rely on this online shop, as it always offers very high performance even with high visitor numbers. Shopify's goal of saving the user many technical hurdles and offering a high level of user-friendliness is also reflected in the comparatively simple product data upload.
Oxid eSales
Oxid eSales is another solution for B2C and B2B online trading. Many different versions are available here, which are geared towards specific target groups and promise a high degree of customisability, flexibility and other benefits. The manufacturer advertises its system and its benefits with the slogan: "robust, powerful, profitable and future-proof". Product import from the LUKAS product data is also possible here without any problems.
WHAT THE LUKAS DATA PACKAGE OFFERS YOU
High data quality increases the user-friendliness of your online shop: Your customer receives exactly the product information they need and are looking for. Appealing texts, clear and directly understandable images and icons show the most important information at a glance, so that your customer does not need any other sources of information, stays on your shop page and completes the purchase with you.
Using common formats (BMECat 2005, BMECat 1.2, CSV and XLSX), you can easily import the LUKAS standard 360° data package into your ERP, PIM or shop system.
The high LUKAS data quality eliminates the need for time-consuming data cleansing and additional work such as the creation of product photos, technical drawings and the time-consuming creation of descriptive texts.
Thanks to our clearly designed machine icons, your customer can see directly on which drive machine he can use the tool in question.
Our data has been specially created and optimised for display in online shops. In collaboration with experienced online retailers and an innovative PIM provider, we have analysed and prepared the most important product data and can therefore provide exactly the data that your customer group wants.
Our current LUKAS standard BMEcat contains a total of 3.500 articles in the best data quality. So there is sure to be something for your shop. By the way: As we keep these products in stock, you will also receive large quantities in the shortest possible time.
The size and dimensions of tools of all kinds are always difficult to estimate from pictures. We have therefore created customised technical drawings for almost all items, which we make available to you. This gives your customer the most important dimensions at a glance.
Thanks to our clearly designed machine icons, your customer can see directly on which drive machine he can use the tool in question.
Every manufacturer has its own product lines, which are usually not transparent for buyers. We have put an end to this and organised our products into a rating system with four clear criteria. The criteria of working speed, service life, surface quality and handling/ergonomics simply show your customer the characteristics of a LUKAS tool and which product best meets their expectations and objectives. You receive our evaluation system as a .jpg file together with other informative product images and can integrate them into your shop without any additional effort.
